So, when I was 17 years old, NASA launched Voyager 1 and 2. Today Voyager 1 is approximately 11 billion miles away from planet Earth and about to leave our Solar System to head into a Magnetic Highway - the zone between Solar Systems. It has taken Voyager 1 about 35 years to get to that point. Hey! I see you with the calculator trying to calculate my age; stay focused on the article! Apparently, Voyager 1 is still communicating information back to us here on earth (It takes up to 17 hours for signals, traveling at light speed from the craft, to get to us here on Earth.). Unbelievable! Well, at least my mother (God rest her soul) would not have believed that Voyager 1 is out there almost about to leave our Solar System. She departed this solar system believing with all her heart that we never did land on the moon. But this latest news is still really mind-boggling. Like, what about maintenance? What is V1's life expectancy? Can Mom see it from where she is? Okay, now I am getting carried away. And why not? This stuff is muy difficult to conceive. Wow!
