In Honor of the Memory of Malcolm X

Society & Culture

Today marks the 48th anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X (also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz). He was courageous, unswerving, and uncompromising in his advocacy for the rights of black people and of oppressed people in general. My post today honors this truly great human being, highlighting one of his most compelling speeches given at the Oxford Union in November 1964, about two months before his death. In this speech he makes the case for the use of extreme means in the defense of freedom. Click here to listen to his Oxford Union Speech.
