Do not be fooled. Do not believe the hype that is out there. There is no shortcut to achieving good health and physical fitness. Now in order to achieve either of those you must set clear goals. Weight loss as a goal is lacking in clarity, for loss of weight does not necessarily mean the attainment of good health. I suggest that you set as your goal the attainment of good health. But a goal without a workable plan is meaningless. And in order to achieve good health the combination of a balanced diet and regular exercise is an absolute necessity. However, there are some things that you must bring to this new situation. Having a clear goal and a sensible plan are insufficient; you must bring a willingness to make certain lifestyle changes and the discipline to follow through consistently in the execution of your plan. So, there is no shortcut or quick fix to attaining good health. Desire must be matched with will, and will must be fueled by self-discipline.
