I am going to say this loudly and without inhibition and fear. I have been saying it all along, and then at some point I became increasingly timid about saying it. But with the recent release of a report by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) I have become emboldened, undaunted, and can say it without trepidation: Israel is guilty of the crime of Apartheid, as evidenced by its practices and policies towards the Palestinian people. The ESCWA report concludes that "Israel has established an apartheid regime that dominates the Palestinian people as a whole."
What is particularly interesting is that the ESCWA analysis is based on "the same body of human rights law and principles that reject anti-Semitism and other racially discriminatory ideologies." The reason for my timidity as expressed above was that I feared being branded as anti-Semitic because, somehow, speaking out against Israel's polices and practices vis a vis the Palestinian people became part of the constituent of anti-Semitism. And now that Israel is being called out for the establishment of its immoral apartheid regime dominating the Palestinian people as a whole, the next step is to isolate it internationally in Economics, Academics, Sports, and Culture as was done to South Africa during that country's Apartheid era. I will not be afraid in demanding justice for the Palestinian people. You shouldn't be too.
